There has never been a better time to choose organic and to start shopping organically. That could be purchasing organic fruit, vegetables, meat, and even organic or ethical clothes. By shopping organically you’re doing your bit to help the environment and ultimately to benefit you; by purchasing products that aren’t covered in chemicals and that taste great too! With this in mind I’ve teamed up with Go Organic to share with you why we choose organic.
Plus if you’re swayed to start shopping organically or to visit the Go Organic festival I’m offering one of my lucky readers the chance to a family ticket to the festival.
Organic food is free from chemicals
Whether it’s your fruit and veg, all organic food is grown without the use of harmful chemicals and pesticides. This ultimately means that they are safer for you and your family to eat, as no chemicals and pesticides have been used in the soil or on the plants to aid the growing process.
Organic food is more nutritious
It is known that there is a higher vitamin and enzyme content in organic food due to the way the soil is managed. This is great news for parents of little ones who can be reassured that they are eating food with a higher vitamin content than their non-organic counterparts.
Organic food tastes better
If all that goodness of being free from chemicals and high in vitamins isn’t enough for you, then organic food also tastes better with stronger flavours created by stronger plants. This is perfect for anyone who is looking to create a tasty and healthy mealtime.
Organic food helps to support our environment and farmers
By shopping organically you are creating a positive impact on the environment. How so? The lack of chemicals and pesticides used to grow the food helps to create a cleaner environment, and a safer place for our farmers to work.
Organic food creates better conditions for animals
By farming organic meat means that no hormones are used on the animals to effectively make them bigger. So you can be reassured that these animals have been farmed leading more comfortable lives.
Those are just five reasons why we shop organic, that benefit us, our environment, and our farmers who play a pivotal role in providing our food to shops, online services and restaurants.
Organic means working with nature, not against it. It means more environmentally sustainable management of the land and natural environment. More wildlife, more bees, more birds, happier animals, better soil, better food and healthier people!
As I mentioned at the start of this post there has never been a better time to start buying organic products. The Go Organic festival is a brilliant family friendly festival celebrating all things organic. Here you can enjoy organic food and drinks from a 100 food stall line-up, children’s entertainment including Mr Bloom, and live music from well known and up-coming artists including The Hoosiers.
If this exciting festival sounds just up your street, it is held in Battersea Park, London over the weekend of the 8th and 9th September 2018 with tickets available to purchase here. Fingers crossed the weather holds out for it!
I’m also offering one of my readers the chance to win a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children)to the Go Organic festival in Battersea Park, London on either Saturday 8th September 2018 or Sunday 9th September 2018. To enter simply head on over to my Facebook page, where you will be entered into the competition by liking and commenting on the pinned post. Competition closes Monday 23rd July 2018.
I hope that this has made you think about the benefits of shopping organic, and I would love to hear your reasons for shopping organically or making the switch.
