Feeling Lucky

The other day I was out on a morning run, and I felt really lucky. Lucky that I was out on a run in the morning, running round our local park. I can’t remember the last time I went out for a run by myself, and I felt kind of free. I had no worries on my mind, and no child to look after that day, and I felt lucky. So I’m guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m feeling lucky right now.

This isn’t meant to be a braggy post, but I just wanted to share my positivity and happiness with you all. My husband has a lot to answer for this, for giving me the push to leave my current job to pursue another career. So I am really lucky to have him around. Without him I wouldn’t have decided to leave iris, sign-up to the Digital Mums social media management course, or to push my blog to be a little money spinner. He’s also my best friend, someone I can always rely on, and is the best father to our daughter.

I’m also so lucky to be able to spend more quality time with our daughter. It’s hard work, but it’s also so rewarding as well. I love our Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Friday’s together. Although I’m still getting used to our new routine, it’s brilliant to be able to spend more time with her. She’s only young once and is at a brilliant age right now.

I also feel incredibly happy for the friendships that I’ve made who have all been so supportive of my decisions that includes my school friends, my uni friends, my NCT friends, my iris friends, my blogging friends, and now my Digital Mum friends. Smartphones and What’s App definitely make it easier to stay in touch or to ask a question in the middle of the night. I love being part of these friendship groups, and I’m so excited to actually meet my Digital Mum peer group face to face tonight.

This blog has also given me so many opportunities including meeting people and attending events, being nominated for awards, being a finalist in the London’s Top Mummy Blogger, receiving many beautiful baby and child related products to review, and working with brands. Sometimes it feels like my dream job, and I love how setting up my blog gave me the confidence to pursue other opportunities.

As a family we’ve also enjoyed lots of family time together visiting our parents in Cambridge and Cheshire. Family is so important when you have children, and we are so lucky to have such kind parents, brothers, sisters, and in-laws who are always here to support us.

We also enjoyed a number of holidays as a family visiting Wales, Spain, Center Parcs and St Lucia, and each holiday has been entirely different with child. It’s great to be able to explore new places together, and spend time together as a family outside of London.

So I guess that what I’m trying to say is that I feel so lucky to have this, and have been able to take these opportunities. As I mentioned at the start of this post, I didn’t write this to be a “look at me” post. I wanted to share my happiness and positivity, as I think we all need a little bit of that sometimes.

Claire x
