Family Cars That Will Rock Your World

As a parent, you’re on an endless mission to find ways of making life a little easier. But when you’ve got children to look after, that’s easier said than done. Taking the care of the kids, especially on long journeys can be a challenge.

The good news is that car manufacturers are increasingly wising up to the needs of parents and their families. No longer do you have to struggle with a lack of entertainment in the back or insufficient space for all your children’s gear. Cars have got bigger, better and more capable.

So what family cars are there? And how will they rock your world?

Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot is Honda’s attempt to give families the flexibility of the Odyssey while avoiding the “minivan” look. And to a large extent, the company has achieved what it set out to do. There’s ample room in the back of the car, a tech feature called CabinTalk, and the ability to fit three seats across the center of the car, as well as two in the back – ideal for kids.

The car will set you back quite a bit of money, unless you buy it second hand from a dealer like Affordable Cars, but it comes with a host of features you just can’t get on a hatchback. The rear seats can be entirely removed, providing you with the boot space you need for a long holiday.

Nissan Pathfinder

The Nissan Pathfinder has the accolade of being a car designed by two mum engineers. The vehicle features a host of family-friendly features, including one that will alert you if you accidentally leave one of your children strapped in on the back seat. The system, the engineers claim, will prevent dozens of child deaths every year by reminding moms that they need to unstrap their kids and take them with them as they go into the supermarket.

Subaru Ascent

Subaru isn’t the first car manufacturer that springs to mind when you think of family-friendly autos, but the carmaker has done its best to make its large, budget SUV crossover, the Ascent, one of the most compelling models on the market.

The big appeal of the Ascent is its ability to be a do-it-all vehicle for your company expeditions. The car will pull an impressive 5000 lbs, meaning that you can tow a large caravan. The engineers have also taken pains to make the installation of booster seats easy. Thanks to the angled headrests, installing boosters is a breeze.

Ford Escape

If you’re looking for a two-row family car, then look no further than the Ford Escape. Ford recently announced that it was going to focus on just a couple of models for the US market, with the Escape being one of them. The main benefit of the Escape is the ability to navigate tight spaces. The car is compact, like a regular sedan, meaning that it’s easy to get in and out of parking spaces – something that moms do a lot.
