Easter Arts and Crafts with Bostik

Easter is one of my favourite times of year, particularly at the moment as I am loving chocolate. I think that being 25 weeks pregnant has something to do with that. So this year I am sure that our house will be full of Easter Eggs, that the toddler and I will be gorging on. However Easter is not just about chocolate. It’s obviously a religious occasion, but it’s also about the Easter bunny and Easter Egg hunts with the children. It’s also a good excuse to get creative, and we have been making some Easter Arts and Crafts as part of our Bostik Blogger programme.

Just like the Valentines Day Arts and Crafts, I’ll show you what we got up to with the Easter crafts, and exactly what you need to make them yourself at home.

Easter Egg Hunt Invite

If you are planning an Easter Egg Hunt these are a great idea for your child to get involved in helping to create. Plus I’m sure that they would love giving them to friends and family.

What you need:

  • A4 pieces of card
  • Card egg shapes
  • Foam Easter decorations such as bunnies and Easter wording.
  • Pens or pencils
  • Bostik Glue Stick

How to make:

  • Simply fold each piece of A4 card in half to create your card.
  • Cut out a piece of green card to create the grass.
  • Stick the grass piece along the bottom of the card with the Bostik Glue Stick.
  • Stick the Easter egg shape to the card with the Bostik Glue Stick
  • Place the Easter wording on the card. If it already has a sticky back then use that, but if not you can use the Glue Stick.
  • Using the pens or pencils to write the time and location of your Easter Egg Hunt on the front of the card.

Easter Egg Hunt Bag

The children will need something to collect the Easter Eggs and a small tote bag is a perfect idea for this.

What you need:

  • Small plain tote bag
  • Foam shapes. We used a bunny shape and a tulip shape.
  • Paint
  • Fabric Glue

How to make:

  • Stick the foam shapes to the bag using the fabric glue. You will need to be careful not to use too much glue otherwise it could soak through. To avoid this I placed a sheet of paper inside the bag.
  • Next up use green paint (or mix a green paint) to create the grass and a stem for your tulip.
  • Lastly allow the paint and the glue to dry before using the bag.

Easter decorations for the home

For the Easter Egg cups:

What you need:

  • 3x foam egg shapes (or as many as you like)
  • Paint
  • Strips of card
  • Ribbon
  • Gems
  • Bostik Tape Discs
  • Bostik Glue Dots

How to make

  • Paint the foam egg shapes in whatever colour you like. Our toddler really enjoyed mixing the colours together and painting a fairly swirly pattern on the eggs. This is great for children who are learning their colours.
  • Cut out strips of cards for the Easter Egg Cups.
  • Wrap each strip of card into a circle, and stick together using the Bostik Tape Discs to form a stand for the Egg.
  • Then decorate each stand with strips of ribbon or gems. You can apply the gems with the Bostik Glue Dots.
  • When the eggs have dried placed these onto each stand. These will then make a nice decoration for your home that your child can be proud off.

For the birds nest:

What you need:

  • Oven clay
  • Thin pieces of paper cut into strips
  • Mini birds nest
  • Foam mini eggs

How to make:

  • Break the clay into 4 pieces, and roll into 4 lengths. You might need to work the clay to get it to warm up before moulding into each shape you need.
  • Wrap the 4 lengths around each other and join together in a circle.
  • Bake the clay in the oven for 15 minutes, and allow to cool down before giving back to your child.
  • Fill with the thin pieces of paper cut into strips, and place the birds nest on top.
  • Lastly add the foam mini eggs onto the birds nest. You then have your own Easter nest for your child to look after.

You also could make a few of these and fill with chocolate eggs which would be a nice treat for the kids, or for yourself.

  • Fill the egg shaped outline with your choice of buttons.
  • Lastly cut your card to fill your frame, and voila you have an Easter picture to place around the home.
