August Bucket List

August is a really busy month for us, as it’s a month of celebrations for us as a family. It’s our daughter’s first birthday, my birthday and our wedding anniversary. The first of the celebrations kicks off tomorrow when our daughter turns 1! I am still in shock that she is nearly 1. I can’t really understand where the last year has gone, and how she has grown from tiny baby to almost a child. Before I list my plans for August, here’s a look back at July.

Getting into a new routine – I’ve been back at work for 5 weeks now, and my little girl has been in nursery too. To begin with we were both ill with conjunctivitis and tonsilitis. I blame the nursery bugs, and the train. However we have now got a good routine going in the mornings, and evenings. I’m finding it hard to manage everything at home, and the blog, and trying to cram everything into a slightly shorter working day at work. I hope that in a few months the routine will have improved further, so it’s not as much of a juggling act.

Blog – I set a task last month to publish a post twice a week now that I am back in work, which I have achieved (yay!). I’ve also managed to set up my first Pinterest blog board for my daughter’s 1st birthday blog. It’s pretty basic, but it’s a starting point.

Sort out our little one’s first birthday party – This is done and the party is happening on Saturday at my parent’s house. We’ll be having a BBQ with close family and then hoping to go out into Cambridge in the evening. It’s been a long time since I was last at home, and I’m really looking forward to going back.

What’s on my bucket list for August:

Having a brilliant 1st birthday party for our daughter – Tomorrow our little girl turns 1! We hope to have a brilliant weekend in Cambridge with the family. I’m sure that we will, and I hope to take lots of photos.

Purchase a dress and shoes for my Brother’s wedding – My brother is getting married next month, and I really need to find a new dress and shoes for the event. I’m hoping to be able to go shopping, and would love a dress from Whistles of Reiss. As well as this I need to get our daughter a nice new dress to wear too – and maybe some shoes.

Encourage our daughter to walk – At nursery our little one is pulling herself up onto her feet, however she rarely does this at home. I’m going to encourage her to do this more, by tempting her with toys (my phone), and I hope that by the end of the month she is starting to show the first signs of walking.

Ditching the Ella’s – Every day I’m having to take two Ella’s Kitchen pouches in our little one’s nursery bag, as she is not always eating the food. The problem is she is having two a day which is expensive, and also I would really like her to eat all her food at nursery.

That’s it! What’s on your Bucket List for August?

Happy birthday in advance, to both you and the wee one. If it’s any consolation, mine is the fussiest child ever at home, but eats really well at nursery. It took him a while, but now he eats things there that he won’t touch at home. Hopefully yours will be the same once she’s used to it. #tribe

Happy Birthday to your little one! Hope you have a fab BBQ, looks like the weather is brilliant for it. It must be so hard to juggle everything but sounds like you’re in the swing of things now – though massive boo to Tonsillitis and conjunctivitis 🙁 hope you have a fab August lovely xx #tribe

Thank you Bridie! It’s not been an easy start to July with illnesses, and I am still ill today (6 weeks later grrr). I think I am slowly getting there with learning how to manage everything. Thanks for reading and commenting 🙂 x
