Week in review #6
This week I’m a little bit late to the party with my look back at the week thanks to a nasty taste of food poisoning or a stomach bug that hit on Friday night. It’s been pretty hard looking after a little one with a constant feeling of nausea, I’m not sure what I would have done had this have happened in the week with my husband at work. All I say is he has been a dream looking after me and baby. So here’s a look back at the best bits of my week:
Liebster Award
This week I was nominated by the lovely Hannah at The Diary of an “Ordinary” Mum for the Liebster Award. I’ve only been blogging for 6 weeks now but this means so much to me to be recognised for my blog already, so thank you Hannah. I’ve been meaning to write my Liebster Award blog post all weekend, and I was gutted to be unable to do this due to illness, so watch this space……
Waterbabies Photoshoot
Last week we had our final Waterbabies class of the term, along with the photo shoot. The shoot was great, the team at Waterbabies set-up a studio underwater to capture our little one whilst being dunked under. I was actually quite surprised how good the pictures were, and we have purchased two. They are expensive, but it is an image that we will only be able to capture once and it will make great presents for all the family.
Weaning
We are slowly progressing with our weaning journey, purees are still a firm favourite for dinner especially pear and apple (she must have a sweet tooth like her Mum). So far the baby-led weaning approach is hit or miss, with some foods going in the mouth and some going on the floor. We have so far been lucky with toast, but unlucky with anything green. I have also discovered that a full brick of Weetabix for breakfast goes down a treat.
Sleeping
Another update on sleep progress, I can now place our little one into her cot awake without the patting and shushing, and she will fall asleep on her own. Those that have read my blog post on my new sleep routine will know that I was patting and shushing to sleep instead of feeding to sleep. This is great news, and I hope that my gradual retreat method is now working.
Have a great week, thanks for reading.

Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, being sick is horrid but when you have kiddies it always feels ten times worse as you can’t just stop and rest! Brilliant news about the sleep though, got my fingers crossed for the retreating method 🙂 x #bigpinklink

This Mum's Life
Oh no, sorry about the food poisoning… There’s no worse torture than being ill with a baby to look after, thank goodness your husband was around! This time last year (it will be for ever etched in my memory) I had severe tonsillitis (tree trunk swollen neck, pus covered tonsils, temperature through the roof, the whole shebang…) and my mum (a saint in mums clothing) said she’d come every day for a week to look after the children for me. Day 2 she put her back out looking after them, and I was left solo… It was horrifying. I was crying in the park at one point, I felt so ill!! Anyway, that aside, it sounds like you’ve had a successful week! Toast and weetabix were firm weaning favourites for my children too! And the sleeping sounds like a relief too! Our eldest required lots of shushing, and gentle retreat until he learnt to fall asleep by his self. It’s a real high five moment when they start doing it! The second was an angel, who luckily had it nailed from day one!!
Thank you so much for joining in with the very first #bigpinklink

Hi, thanks for reading and for commenting. It’s so rubbish being ill, I really feel for you reading that. I hope that once I’m better I start to appreciate things a bit more. All the household chores are building up, but I’m trying not to get stressed by them to much. Thanks for hosting this new linkup. Claire x

Hope you are feeling better. Baby led weaning seems to be hit and miss universally from what I can gather.

I always found my two loved fruit much more than veg when weaning (still true)! Popping by from #bloggerclubuk
