Weekly review

Week in Review – #13

I’m a little late in publishing this post this week, I seem to have gone a bit blogging mad recently by publishing a new post every day for past week or so. The 30 Day Blogging Challenge has had quite a lot to do with that, along with my April Bucket List and Weaning blog post. I can’t quite believe that I’ve been blogging for 13 weeks, that’s 3 months next week. Anyway back to my week, we had a brilliant week and weekend seeing friends and family, and our little one has also started babbling! Here are some of my highlights from last week.

Battersea Park Childrens Zoo

This was possibly the highlight of my week. Having lived in London for nearly 9 years I had never been to Battersea Park before. I really enjoyed our walk from the station to the zoo, the park is lovely with lots of wide paths, a boating lake with pedalo’s and plenty of green space, it would make a perfect place to come to in the Summer. I was also pretty in awe of all the sporting activity taking place with people on rollerblades, cycling, running and lots of strange bikes. We made our way to the zoo which is at the top of the park by the River Thames. The zoo is small with lots of smaller animals such as horses, donkeys, wallabies, squirrel monkeys and meerkats, you won’t find lions or tigers here. We were meeting with friends who have older children that could appreciate the animals and play park a little more than our 8 month old. We had a brilliant day catching up with friends, and seeing how great this place would be when our daughter is a little older.

Greenwich

We were also lucky enough to have two visits to Greenwich Park this week, in the gorgeous sunshine. On Sunday my parents came to London for the day and we took to a trip to Greenwich, where we enjoyed lunch in Jamie’s Italian and had a leisurely walk around the park. It was lovely for my parents to spend time with our little one, who was brilliantly behaved during lunch, and my Mum had first hand experience what it is like to eat a meal with one hand.

Babbling

This week the noises made by our little one have changed, she has gone from cooing to babbling. It is so cute, she is almost trying to talk, she babbles away when she’s playing or when she wakes up first thing in the morning. She’s also beginning to say what sounds like “Mum” with “mummamummamumma”.

Sunshine

Spring has definitely sprung this week! I’ve been out and about without a coat some days and wearing my sunglasses. That has been lovely and put a big smile on my face, I hope that we have some more beautiful days this month.

That’s it, next week we are off to Wales for a week, so watch out for that update.

Thank you, we will have a fabulous time I’m sure, it’ll be great to get away from the rat race for a week. Sometimes it’s nice to do the touristy things every now and I again, I forget that we live in London and have all this just a train ride away, I really should make the most if it. I hope you had a brilliant time on your holiday in Holland 2 years ago, it really does make you appreciate where you live. Thanks for hosting a fab Linky. Claire x

Now I’m jealous! Warm enough to be without a coat!! We’ve not had it quite warm enough in the South West yet but the sun is definitely starting to make an appearance. Sounds like you’ve had a wonderful week, Batterseas never been somewhere I’d thought of visiting but it sounds lovely. Somewhere to put on the list of places to go 🙂 x

Ah what a lovely idea to note down your weekly highlights, sounds like a good one! I love the way having little people gets you to places that you may not have thought to visit before. Batteries Park and all it has to offer sounds great! Enjoy Wales (did I ever reply…I see your south, was jealous…I was talybronx north!). Well done with the blogging challenge too #familyfun

Ah up in the Bronx, in the new ones or the old ones? How funny I bet we were in the Talybont Social drinking cider and black, and eating curly fries at the same time (it’s a small world). I love doing the weekly highlights, although I keep writing later and later in the week, need to get better with this. Thank you for reading and commenting. Claire x
