Simple Flower Arts and Crafts with Bostik

As Spring has been somewhat missing recently, we have been busy bringing the Spring indoors by making flower themed Arts and Crafts as part of the Bostik Blogger programme that we are very excited to be part of. There are so many simple flower Arts and Crafts that can be made, and I decided to stick to simplicity here for toddlers and young children. So here’s what we got up to, and what we made.

Flower Picture

This is probably the easiest by far, and will allow your toddler some free reign and to really get creative.

What you need:

  • Green crepe paper for the grass
  • Bostik Blu Stick
  • Paper Flowers
  • Backing sheet of paper in a colour and size of your choice

How to make it:

  1. Simple cut the green crepe paper into a grass shape to fit the length of the background paper.
  2. Stick the grass shape to the bottom of the background paper using the Bostik Blu Stick. I love this glue. It goes onto the paper blue, and then dries clear, making it really easy to see what areas you have glued and also helping your child too.
  3. Next add the flowers to the background paper in a random order, and apply this with the Bostik Blu Stick.
  4. That’s it! It’s really easy and a nice activity for young children and toddlers. This picture can be pinned on the wall of their bedroom, stuck to the fridge, or placed in a frame.

Crepe Paper Flowers

What you need:

  • Red and Green Crepe Paper
  • Metal wire strips

How to make:

  1. Simply cut the Red and Green Crepe Paper into circles. We made ours about 10 centimetres in diameter.
  2. Take each metal wire strip and tie a knot about 1 inch from the top of each wire.
  3. Place the Red and Green Crepe Paper circles onto the wire, and then twist the paper to create a flower like shape. Then use the excess wire above the knot to hold the flower in place.
  4. Either place in a tall vase, or team up an existing house plant with these stylish crepe paper flowers.

Melted Bead Flower

What you need:

  • Hama shape mould
  • Hama beads
  • Ironing paper
  • Iron

How to make:

  1. Take the Hama shape mould and apply the Hama beads to each of the pins. This will require quite a lot of care and attention, and it will really help your child to fine tune their motor skills.
  2. Once this is complete, the next step is for an adult to iron over the beads. Place the ironing paper between the beads and the iron to avoid wrecking your iron on the melting beads.
  3. Top tip: Don’t overheat or iron for too long as the Hama shape mould pins may start to melt.
  4. Leave to cool and then peel your shape from the mould.

How to make:

  1. Attach the ribbon at both ends to either side of the plastic pot or basket, using the Bostik Glue Dots.
  2. Fix the paper flowers around the outside of the plastic post or basket in a design or random order of your choice.
  3. Once it’s complete the basket can be used by your child to place their small toys in or be used for a treasure hunt.

So that’s it, those are my simple flower Arts and Crafts that you can easily make with your child. I hope that this has given you some inspiration for these rather wet days, and let’s hope that Spring and the sunshine is on the way soon.
