No more accidents during potty training

Potty training is a huge milestones for your child and also for you. There is a lot of think about starting from “Is it the right time to potty train my child?” to “How long will the potty training process take?” to “Can I leave the house when I’m potty training?”. The list goes on and on, and this is a milestones that parents instantly fear. I know that I do. But have you also thought about how to protect your furniture from accidents during potty training, and your child’s bed when you start to wean them off nappies during the night.

As I said it’s another thing to think about, and another part of the parcel of potty training. I know personally that it’s fairly unpleasant cleaning up a number 2 from your furniture. I won’t go into that.

To make our lives a little easier you can protect your child’s cot or cot bed with a MoliNea underpad from Hartmann Direct. These underpads are thin, absorbant, and can easily fit underneath your child’s cot sheet without them feeling it. Each pad is plastic backed so there’s no chance of any leaks escaping through to damage the mattress, making the clean up slightly easier. So, instead of having to deal with a soaked mattress at 2am, all you would need to do is replace the sheet and your child’s clothes, plus the underpad too.

I would also use the underpads to protect furniture and carpet when we start potty training too. They can be placed under the potty, surrounding the potty, or on the sofa or carpet, just in case your child doesn’t make it to the potty in time, or has other ideas.

I found that the underpads are a really good size measuring 60 x 90 centimetres which is perfect for your cot or cotbed, as it can be placed at the end where your child usually sleeps. We would need to use two underpads as our daughter has a tendency to gravitate around her cot during the night. They are available in 40 x 60 centimetres, and 60 x 60 centimetres, and start from £7.99 for a pack of 30.

So once we start potty training and starting to wean our daughter off nappies during the night, we will be using our underpads from Hartmann Direct and praying that their are no accidental leaks.

What have you used to protect your furniture and cot mattress during potty training, I would really love to know? Or have you crossed your fingers, and hoped for the best.
