A little bit of news……

Pregnancy scan picture surrounded by toys

I’ll make this short and snappy. We are having a baby due late Spring or early Summer.

Yesterday we went for our 20 week scan and it was so exciting to see the little man on the screen. He even gave us a little wave. I finally feel like all the excitement can begin now, lists can be made, and we can actually start getting ready for it.

It’s funny as this pregnancy I definitely haven’t been on the ball on the much as I was with my first. I really have to think about what week we are in, whereas with my first I was on the Babycentre app all the time. This time round I feel like there is literally no time to really think about it, the weeks are flying and I’m spending my days chasing a toddler around which is definitely making the time pass quicker.

I am so glad to be out of the first trimester. It was hard work. There were days when I felt so exhausted that I couldn’t do anything. There were days that I felt sick with nausea, that all I could do was lie on the sofa whilst my toddler trashed the house around me or watched Peppa Pig on my phone. Plus there were weeks when I felt like I was getting battered by every single cough and cold that was going around. Truly awful. Among this there were good days, where I felt normal and had energy.

Anyway I am feeling so much better now and back to normal. Well almost normal, except for the PGP pain. I definitely didn’t have this with first, and so I’m hoping the exercises I have for it and MUTU will help with that.

In terms of work I am still working and enjoying it. I am still blogging as much as I was apart from one or two days where I had no motivation out of exhaustion to write a blog post. I am still very much on the hunt for clients to work with after my completing my Digital Mums course, and my goals for 2018 very much remain. Consciously I set these that there would be a little one arriving late Spring, and I am sure that they are all very much achievable even with a newborn.

So for now, it’s onwards with the planning, purchasing and Pinteresting nursery ideas. We just need our house move to complete and to think of a name.

Oh and if anyone has any tips on looking after a newborn and a toddler (nearly three year old) at the same time that would be most appreciated. The one thing I am worried about is the lack of sleep……

Claire x

Congratulations!!! How exciting, how did you manage to keep this secret for 20weeks? I barely made it to 12 before telling the whole of the internet haha.xx

Thank you! It’s been tough and I think I went into hiding for a bit. Life has been really busy so it’s been quite easy to not mention it and had so many other things to focus on x

Congratulations Claire!! Looks like you’ll have a similar age gap to my boys. I can’t remember how I managed but you just do! Will your daughter be going to nursery at all? My eldest went two mornings a week and I found that helped break the week up a bit and kept the toddler stimulated enough so you could also have a couple of quiet days at home if needed

Thanks lovely! Yes my daughter will still stay in nursery for 2 days a week. It’s so good for her, plus I think I would go insane if I had two all week. She can be quite a handful at times and it’s so nice to have a break in the week. Like you say I think I’ll just manage, it’ll be tough and tiring but I’m a firm believer in taking every day, every hour at a time x x

  4. Congratulations! Sorry to hear you have PGP though. I had it terribly with my first and could barely walk. I’ve been doing prenatal Pilates this time and (along with slowing down and a lot care standing up, getting into the car / bed etc) I’ve amazingly made it to 33 weeks with no real symptoms. Definitely recommend giving it a try! Stay well xx

Oh no that’s rubbish that you could barely walk. I hope mine doesn’t get to that stage, it’s so much worse this time round and happening much earlier as well. Yes my daughter will still continue with her two days a week at nursery which at the moment is great as it’s giving me some time to rest, and work. And well done for making it to 33 weeks, good luck with the rest of the pregnancy and hope it goes smoothly for you x x

Wonderful and exciting news for you all. I am pleased you are feeling better and you are amazing how you keep on going with blogging too and in such an ambition way. Just like with the first, you will be fine learning as you go along with two and you will get the new joy of siblings which can be very beautiful indeed.

Congratulations! We have three boys. This is real happiness, although sometimes it is very difficult. But when the baby comes to you and hugs – it causes inexpressible emotions …
