My 10 Happy Things

After a yesterday’s post in the Daily Mail and the rubbish weather, I thought that this is a good time to focus on being positive, and what makes me feel happy. Feeling happy is so important to our well being, it makes us feel confident and also helps to bring good things into our lives. When I was tagged to take part in the “My 10 Happy Things” by  Mummy’s Diary I jumped at the chance. So, without further ado, here are my 10 Happy Things.

Sunshine

I love the sunshine, don’t we all. There is nothing better than a glorious sunny and warm day. I love being able to sit in the sunshine, some people would call me a lizard. I think that I could sit out in the sunshine all day long, whether that’s in the park, in the garden or on a beach.

Holidays

I’m one of those people who has to have all their holidays planned out for the entire year. If I don’t have a holiday planned it makes me feel anxious. Luckily we have a couple of holidays planned for the rest of this year, including a week in Wales, a week in Spain, and another trip to Center Parcs.

Our daughter

She’s my number one reason for happiness. She’s at a brilliant age at the moment, and I love that I’ve taken the opportunity to spend more time with her. Everyday she’s changing, learning and her personality is starting to shine through. She’s becoming more and more affectionate, and loves giving cuddles and kisses.

The future

I’m really excited about what the future holds. Next month I start the Digital Mums Social Media Management course, and I’m really excited about where this will take me. At the same time I’m really happy that I have been bold and brave to make this giant leap into the unknown.

Wine

I’m pretty sure that I would get called a “slummy mummy” for including this in my list. However I love wine. I love being able to have a glass at the end of the day to relax and unwind, don’t we all? I used to really like red wine, but now my taste buds have swayed towards a crisp and cool glass of white.

Medium rare steak

Sticking with the food and drink theme here, I love a medium rare steak. It’s not something I enjoy often enough as I can’t quite create restaurant quality at home. It’s something that I really missed when I was pregnant, and was one of the first foods I had soon after having my daughter.

My husband

Ah. I love my husband, he’s one of my main reasons for happiness. I’m getting soppy now. Seriously though I couldn’t live without him. He’s been so supportive of me in my change of career, and is totally in agreement that it’s the best thing to do. He’s also a brilliant Dad, and I can see the happiness in my daughter’s eyes every time he arrives home from work.

A good book

There is nothing better than reading a good book. I love being able to steal away some time to absorb myself in a book. I think that next on my list to read is Cows by Dawn Porter that a friend of mine has recently recommended.

Friends

I have many circles of friends; my school friends, my uni friends, my work friends, my blog friends, and my NCT friends, all of whom I don’t see enough. However with the wonders of modern technology it’s so easy to keep in touch, and I often forget that I’ve not seen some of them for months on end. However they are all here, and can be relied upon if I ever needed them.

Being outside

Just like my daughter does I love being outside, usually when it’s sunny. I love going to the local parks, being in the garden, visiting a National Trust property or taking a walk along a beach. Getting fresh air and exploring new places make me happy.

So, there you have it my 10 happy things. To keep the tag going, I nominate these fab bloggers to take part in this tag.
