A personal brand photography shoot with Portayed Photography

Having a personal branding photography shoot was something that I really needed to have done especially now that I run my own business that I’m determined to grow this year. It’s a strange concept having pictures taken of yourself, and I would highly recommend it. The high quality and professional photos can then be used across your online profiles, business cards, social media profiles and any of your business materials and comms.

I recently had a personal brand photography shoot with Tricia; the founder of Portrayed Photography and Tricia has a focus on family photography, headshots and personal branding. I certainly felt that she captured the real me at work and at home during the photoshoot and afterwards in the photos. I am hugely impressed with Tricia and I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone in South London who would love a family photoshoot or their own professional photographs. I’m not just saying that for the purpose of this blog post, I found the whole experience lovely and a great thing to do.

From the moment I started chatting to Tricia on Instagram I felt totally relaxed and at ease about discussing my needs and wishes for the photoshoot. The main aim was that I could get some really nice and high quality photos that I could use across my Instagram and my business profile in my home setting, as these would be the most useful for this lifestyle blog and its social media, along with my social media management business profile.

Before Tricia arrived we discussed a few photography options and what to wear on the day. For anyone who is thinking about doing something similar it’s best to wear clothes that reflect “you” and something that isn’t going to go out of fashion too quickly, as you really never know how long you’ll be using the images for.

On the day of the photoshoot Tricia arrived with all her kit ready to set up. I found this was all set up very discretly, even though some of the kit is huge, and I felt entirely at ease about having someone in my house. When it came to taking the photos Tricia provided direction along with some ideas from myself. I felt totally relaxed about having the photos taken and not at all uncomfortable, we even had a laugh during the morning. The whole experience took a couple of hours and I now have a lot of beautiful photos that I can use in the future as a result.

Overall I was really impressed with my personal branding photoshoot. I whole heartedly recommend this to anyone, particularly those that are self employed. The benefits of having a personal brand photograpy shoot are that you’ll have a raft of professional imagery you can use and have that headshot image available when someone asks you for one.

Thanks Claire! It was fun and a pleasure working with you too! You instantly welcomed me into your home and gave me the creative and physical space to create these images. I’d say we made a good team and that’s what it’s all about.
