July Bucket List

The first half of 2016 is complete, maternity leave is over and I am now back at work. June has been such a busy month, trying to cram in so much – a holiday in Spain, a blogging conference and seeing friends and family.

Here’s a look back at what I achieved from my June Bucket List

Pick a new blog theme – I have not completed this at all, and I had this as one of my “must-do” blog tasks before I went back to work. I’m a little annoyed at myself for this, as I wanted to also have it complete for #BML16.

Blog – My blog tasks for June were to reach 3,000 followers on Twitter, and to set-up a blogging schedule for the next two months. Well, I’ve nearly reached 3,000 followers, I currently have 2,994, so that isn’t bad going. And, I’ve managed to set-up a blogging schedule, I just need to make sure I try to stick to it now that I’m back at work.

Fish – The fish is still in the freezer! No comment.

London – I said that would I try to make two trips into London before the end of my maternity leave. I have over-achieved this by going for lunch with the family at a pub in Mayfair, and then going for lunch with my husband at Benares restaurant. As well as this I’ve also managed a small shopping trip to Oxford Street too!

Sorting out my daughter’s clothes – I’ve sorted all her clothes out. I’ve put the clothes she no longer fits into, into vacuum packs, and I’ve sorted out all the clothes we received from my sister-in-law last month.

Have a fab time in Spain – We had a brilliant holiday in Spain at the start of June, which was our first holiday abroad as a family of 3. It was lovely to spend a week in the sunshine enjoying the pool and the beach with a little one.

And here’s my July Bucket List:

Getting into a new routine – Now that I’ve gone back to work and our little one has started nursery, I need to get us into a new routine. This is from doing the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, to managing working from home on a Monday, to cooking dinner and sorting out the house.

Blog – I’m not going to set myself any huge blog tasks this month now that my time is more limited, and the our linky #fortheloveofBLOG is getting more popular. I would like to post twice a week, and also put some thought towards Pinterest. Following the brilliant Pinterest talk I attended at #BML16 last month, I have some really good ideas on how I can use Pinterest for some future blog posts – I just need to start populating the boards now.

Sort out our little one’s first birthday party – Next month our daughter turns one! I’m not sure where the time has gone, but we now really need to start planning her birthday party. We are having a family gathering at my Mum and Dad’s house, so we need to organise presents, food, cake and decoration.

I’m going to keep my list short this month, just so it’s achievable. Hopefully I will tick off all these items on my Bucket List, find out how I get on at the end of the month.

Have a fab July!

I think it’s a great idea to keep the list short and focused, especially now you’re back at work…you must be super busy! Well done on almost really your 3,000 followers and also for how popular #fortheloveofBLOG has become – you and Fi do a wonderful job and I love joining in. Here’s to a fab July! Xxx #triballove

It has been a bit of a nightmare so far if I’m honest. My daughter has had conjunctivitus and I’ve had tonsilitus, so we had a false start last week and I did 2.5 hours in the office! A schedule is a life saver, even though it does get broken all the time 🙂 x

Good luck with the birthday party. Hope you are finding it all doable being back at work. Lots of nice things achieved in June . Well done for the 3000 foloowers #bigpinklink

Good idea to do monthly bucket list. Great short term goals. Well done on the twitter following, great numbers! I’m about 10% of the way to that number Hope you enjoy planning the 1st birthday party, such a memorable one. #MarvMondays

Well done on achieving lots of your list! 2994 is as good as 3000 🙂 it is a big jump trying to sort out the new routine so it is good that you’ve been realistic with the blogging achievements for July. Have a fab 1st birthday celebrations too x #triballove

Thanks Laura, we have hit the 3,098 mark now which is great! The routine got off to a shaky start with us both being ill in our first week of the new routine, I’m hoping for better this week. Claire x

It sounds from the comments like returning to work has gotten off to a shaky start, but I’m sure once all the illness has cleared, you will find your new routine, and this will start to go smoothly! Is your daughter settling ok at nursery? You are incredibly organised-I envy your organisation skills! I don’t have a blog schedule/goals/lists, or even own a diary! I really wish I could change this, but I’ve always been the same, and I’m not sure I’d stick to it ever, if I made one. I’d so love to be a little less chaotic!! Well done on the Twitter following-I found I crawled to 2000 followers, then the numbers seemed to rise sharply from there! I’d also like to get to grips with Pinterest, but I’m actually trying to take a step back from blogging at the moment, so that will be waiting a while longer. I’m glad you had a fabulous holiday, and I hope your daughter has an amazing first birthday!! Good luck achieving your goals this month. X

Thank you lovely, yes we had a false start last week. She’s settling much better now, we had a better day today, where she didn’t cry when I picked her up. The Twitter followers have slowed, and I can see that I won’t get round to Pinterest this month but let’s see. Even if I create one board as least I’ve done something. Thanks so much for your lovely comment 🙂 x

Great idea to have a manageable list, so that you’re not setting yourself up to fall/trip! I’m intrigued by the fish comment though… Here’s hoping you tick a few off! #MarvMondays

It’s great that you managed fairly well on all the June bucket list. Good luck on July, I’m sure it’s going to be thoroughly achievable. #BigPinkLink

Great bucket list, you achieved loads in June and it looks like you have an equally busy July! I hope you are settling back into work ok, those first few months can be tough to find a new balance! Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Emily

Thanks hun, the first few week’s have been tough with illnesses added on top, making it more of a struggle. I hope that in a few week’s we find a routine and rhythm 🙂 x
